founded in 1965 and headquartered in norfolk, connecticut, new england miniature ball (nemb) is a leading manufacturer of precision balls. our mission is to supply our customers with high-quality precision and semi-precision balls. our experience and expertise makes us an ideal choice for high-quality metal balls for a wide variety of applications and markets. as part of our ongoing commitment to producing the highest quality products, nemb continues to invest in equipment to measure and insure that specifications for roundness, surface, diameter and hardness are achieved. our iso 9001 certification is further testimony to our “quality first” approach to our business. besides our product expertise and quality, nemb also prides itself on customer service. we are extremely flexible and can accommodate orders for non-standard ball sizes and small production runs. we have an extensive inventory of standard and non-standard diameters in many diverse materials and, if needed, our “job shop” capabilities can minimize lead times for any special, non-standard requirements. for over 50 years, nemb has been leading the industry in miniature ball manufacturing. over those 50+ years, we have fine tuned our process to allow us to manufacture the best grade possible in these miniature balls. we have the ability to manufacture as small as a 0.010″ in 440-c stainless steel, 52100 chrome steel and tungsten carbide while holding grade 24 tolerances. our process also allows us to produce balls as small as 0.020″ (0.5mm) in virtually all of our other materials. precision balls are used in a wide variety of applications including bearings, medical equipment, ball screws, valves, testing equipment and a multitude of other applications where diameter, surface finish, and roundness are critical. nemb produces precision balls in grades ranging from 3 to 500. the lower the number grade, the higher precision the ball is.
